DIGITAL CONCEPT
(THE GOAL)
For our Designing for the Brain exam, my study group and I developed a digital concept for Galleri Lene Bilgrav, a local art gallery. Using neuroscience-based design principles, we integrated gamification and augmented reality (AR) to create an engaging online experience. Our goal was to design a cohesive visual universe that not only enhances brand presence but also motivates users to explore, interact, and ultimately purchase art online.
Using a design thinking approach, we worked agile and iteratively to develop the concept. We combined relevant theory with qualitative insights from the gallery owner and target audience interviews. Inspired by Lauritz.com’s auction model, we integrated gamification by allowing selected artworks to be auctioned online, donating 10% of sales to Danske Gallerier. To make a sense of ownership, we implemented AR, enabling users to scan a QR code and visualize a 3D version of an artwork in their own space. The prototype was designed using the Fibonacci golden ratio to create visual hierarchy, supported by other UX/UI best practices, and was refined through user testing.
